Meet the Artist
Samantha Carter is a ceramic artist creating handbuilt, one-of-a-kind home objects that bridge function and form. Rooted in wabi-sabi principles, her work embraces organic shapes, hand-carved patterns, and the quiet imperfections left behind by the human hand.
She holds a B.F.A. from Florida State University and has worked with clay for over a decade. After college, Samantha moved to Western North Carolina to be immersed in its rich pottery traditions and inspired by the surrounding mountain landscape. It’s an influence that continues to shape her forms and surfaces.
Today, she creates from her home studio in the apple valley of Hendersonville, North Carolina. Guided by intuition and experimentation, her evolving practice explores thoughtful solutions to everyday design, resulting in functional objects meant to be lived with, used, and returned to daily.
